About DW Akademie
DW Akademie is Deutsche Welle’s center for international media development, journalism training and knowledge transfer. Our projects strengthen the human right to freedom of expression and unhindered access to information. We empower people worldwide to make independent decisions based on reliable facts and constructive dialogue.
DW Akademie is a strategic partner of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. We also receive funding from the Federal Foreign Office and the European Union and are active in more than 70 developing countries and emerging economies.
DW Akademie operates in five major business areas: Our most important and largest area is International Media Development. In addition, we have been training media professionals inside and outside DW for many years, offering internal and external analyses and consulting services on current media topics, promoting the German language through innovative online language courses, and providing communication expertise for German and international NGOs and other clients.

About DW Research and Cooperations
DW Research and Cooperations is a reliable and highly experienced partner for media research and innovation projects. Its expertise covers many fields at the crossroads of journalism, IT, and media science: data-driven journalism, drone journalism, immersive journalism, content personalization, content verification & disinformation, distributed ledgers, human language technology – and the list goes on. DW ReCo develops media use cases and dissemination concepts, it provides multimedia content and creates user interfaces, it validates and evaluates concepts and tools for journalism. DW ReCo also co-develops software like Truly Media or plain X.[RB1]
